May and June mark the ideal months to explore Wales. While summer might attract more visitors due to its predictably pleasant weather, late spring offers a vibrant display of wildflowers that envelop the countryside, resembling a living tapestry. The stunning coastline glimmers, while cliffs become a bustling haven for nesting seabirds. The overall ambiance beckons travelers to immerse themselves in nature, and in Wales, there is an abundance of outdoor activities awaiting you.

My passion for Wales ignited approximately two decades ago during a month-long expedition to uncover the best campsites. I had previously visited in summer, but this dedicated trip unveiled an exquisite landscape, tranquil walking paths, and laid-back resorts that I found irresistible. Consequently, I have made it a tradition to revisit each May.

Here are some exciting accommodation options that exemplify why you should visit Wales. This collection emphasizes new finds or places that have added noteworthy features: whether it’s a recent makeover, accolades, or extraordinary culinary experiences. Notably, you’ll observe that the Welsh accommodations tend to deliver exceptional value compared to other areas in the UK. Travelers can expect to enjoy quality stays without breaking the bank, especially when compared to pricier destinations like Cornwall or the Lake District. Moreover, the focus on delectable food is apparent, whether at cozy B&Bs or prestigious Michelin-star establishments.

As for the weather? Let’s consider that. St Davids in Pembrokeshire typically sees rainfall during May comparable to Penzance, approximately 60mm or around 15 rainy days. Yet, the climate of Cornwall rarely attracts the same scrutiny. Perhaps a bit of mystery surrounding the Welsh spring is a blessing; we can keep some of its beauty to ourselves.

1. Penmaenuchaf, Dolgellau, Gwynedd

The stunning Caribbean paradise of St Lucia is well-known among British travelers as a serene retreat, yet it has not yet established itself as a luxury destination like St Barts or Mustique, which has long been favored by celebrities and royalty. Unlike other nearby islands like Antigua and Barbados, St Lucia has retained a more understated charm.

The island boasts breathtaking volcanic landscapes replete with lush greenery, cascading waterfalls, and unique features like mud baths and sulphur springs, particularly in its southwestern region. St Lucia seems to favor showcasing its natural beauty over aggressively promoting its hospitality sector.

While there are a few upscale hotels such as the impressive Jade Mountain, which has drawn attention through media features, St Lucia has managed to cultivate an identity that goes beyond merely catering to the affluent.

However, this might soon change with the introduction of a remarkable new luxury space called Spice of Life, a 35,000 sq ft villa described as the Caribbean’s largest private residence. Owned by a British family residing in Bermuda, the Greens, this grand villa is situated on the grounds of the Viceroy Sugar Beach Hotel, which they purchased in 2019, and is nestled beneath the awe-inspiring Pitons, a UNESCO World Heritage site characterized by its towering volcanic peaks.

Sugar Beach represents the quintessential Caribbean hotel, characterized by its low-profile architecture and set within a sprawling rainforest of over 100 acres. Previously owned by a British accountant for the Rolling Stones, Sugar Beach was once under the stewardship of Lord Glenconner, who helped popularize Mustique in the 1960s.

As a newcomer on the island, I am captivated by St Lucia’s dramatic scenery, reminiscent of a cinema backdrop, and I am equally impressed by the warm hospitality of its people. From the attentive staff at Sugar Beach to my knowledgeable driver who shares insights about local flora and landmarks, St Lucia feels distinctively rooted in its culture and community. It’s noteworthy that it holds the title of having the highest number of Nobel laureates per capita of any independent nation.

Spice of Life is a striking architectural feat designed by Botelho Wood Architects, strategically positioned above the beach but subtly out of sight from Sugar Beach. This modernist villa evokes the grandeur associated with high-profile celebrity retreats and is equipped with numerous luxury amenities. Accommodating up to 18 guests, it features 24-hour butler service, two kitchens (including an industrial-grade kitchen ideal for events), 13 bathrooms, a private chef, an infinity pool, a children’s playroom, an outdoor cinema, a gym, and exclusive beach access. Uniquely, it also boasts a formidable collection of modern art, showcasing works from renowned artists including Damien Hirst and Jeff Koons.

The villa’s location away from the main hotel is advantageous, offering guests privacy while still allowing access to the hotel facilities. But with so many luxurious amenities at Spice of Life, it’s hard to imagine wanting to leave. The main living area features a captivating light sculpture by James Turrell, which continuously changes colors, illuminating the elegant dining space surrounded by abstract artwork.

Ascending a sleek blond-wood staircase leads to an expansive floor filled with airy en suite bedrooms, each equipped with modern bathrooms and outdoor showers. The design includes rich textures and a calming color palette that allows the stunning views of the Caribbean Sea and the soaring Pitons to take center stage.

During my stay with friends, we lounge by the infinity pool, sip cocktails, and stroll to the private beach. The villa also includes a gym, while the hotel’s spa professionals are available for massages and wellness treatments. However, the highlight remains the gourmet meals prepared by the dedicated chef, which rival any high-end dining experience.

The Greens, who also manage the Hamilton Princess hotel in Bermuda, have grand ambitions for Sugar Beach. Future developments include a new racket club and treehouse spa built using traditional Carib-Indian methods, as well as a Cocoa Mill offering chocolate-making experiences that celebrate the island’s cocoa heritage.

My experience at Spice of Life was enjoyable, though I sensed a slight disparity between the villa and Sugar Beach. The main hotel features tastefully appointed rooms and villas with outdoor plunge pools, but the overall facilities could benefit from a modern infusion to match the luxury of Spice of Life.

Will the arrival of Spice of Life elevate St Lucia’s status akin to its trendier neighbors? It’s possible, especially as St Lucia remains a unique Caribbean gem relatively untouched by mass tourism and luxury commercialization. I envision that Spice of Life will draw a more discerning type of traveler seeking tranquility, luxury, and authentic Caribbean experiences.

Your Guide to Affordable St Lucia

By Siobhan Grogan

For diverse day trips and immersion in local culture, consider staying near the capital, Castries. The resort features cozy, tropical-hued rooms and a plethora of on-site activities such as swimming pools and a kids’ program. Dining options include casual beachside fare and a steakhouse.

The adults-only Bel Jou Resort provides a tranquil escape with high-quality service and well-appointed rooms featuring balconies with picturesque views. It offers spa services, fitness facilities, and a daily schedule of engaging activities.

Roaming further north, the lively town of Rodney Bay offers an abundance of dining, shopping, and nightlife options. Soco House, an adults-only hotel, captures Creole charm, with beautifully appointed rooms and relaxing amenities including a poolside bar.

The Harbor Club, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, sits opposite Rodney Bay’s marina and offers guests unique activities like diving and dining options, all while boasting stunning ocean and mountain views.

For those seeking adventure, the area surrounding Soufrière is ideal, given its proximity to the iconic Pitons and geothermal sites. Ladera Resort, the only hotel within the Unesco-listed Pitons area, offers extraordinary views, handcrafted design, and a range of wellness activities.

Activities to Experience

Taking guided hikes is a fantastic way to explore the Pitons and obtain stunning vistas, with various trails available across the region. The nearby La Soufrière volcano is renowned as the world’s only drive-in volcano, offering opportunities for hot mud baths.

Other nature-centric excursions include swimming in serene pools at Latille Falls or zip-lining through the rainforest. For an unforgettable experience, partake in whale watching between October and February, with numerous boat tours departing from Castries.

All beaches on the island are publicly accessible, including those fronting resorts, with Anse Chastanet and Jalousie Beach ranked among the most beautiful options. For authentic local cuisine, the Castries market offers an array of dishes, with weekend street parties enhancing the culinary experience.

The fragrant aroma of Aleppo pines welcomed us long before our vessel, the 36-passenger MS Katarina, arrived at the picturesque island of Mljet, which is characterized by its lush greenery. Docking at the small harbor in Pomena, inhabited by just 62 residents, we found ourselves alongside a few fishing boats. The sunlight of early June shimmered across the calm waters, allowing me to finally relax after the stressful preparations and an early 3 AM flight to Dubrovnik.

This marked the beginning of an exciting week-long journey through Southern Croatia, exploring the stunning islands of Mljet, Korcula, Vis, and Hvar— with Korcula being inaccessible for larger ships. I was particularly thrilled that this cruise offered half-board accommodations, which meant that for five out of seven nights, we would dine in various restaurants along the shore.

As the most luxurious ship in Sail Croatia’s fleet, the Katarina featured modern amenities, including a sundeck, hot tub, a bright bar and dining area, and a swimming platform. My husband, David, and I settled into a cozy lower-deck cabin that boasted high portholes and tasteful decor in pale grey and turquoise. As I examined my reflection in the mirror, my stressed appearance was a clear sign that I desperately needed some relaxation and sunshine.

The other passengers on board were notably younger than typical cruise-goers, predominantly affluent millennials from Australia and the United States, including three newlywed couples who exchanged stories of their recent weddings. One couple was inspired to book this trip after watching the TV show Below Deck, even though the Katarina did not foster any romantic entanglements—many crew members were family, with Captain Ivan’s relatives helping in various roles.

After recovering from our earlier journey, David and I enjoyed a delightful meal that included a selection of Dalmatian cheese and ham, followed by a delicious sea bass paired with Croatian rosé, all for around £25 each at a quaint restaurant perched on the edge of a jetty. The half-board format was economically friendly; we spent about £125 each on meals throughout our week.

Our first complete day was filled with activity as we embarked on a morning cycling excursion through the mostly car-free Mljet National Park (entrance fee: £21 per person; bike hire: £17). We pedaled around Veliko and Malo Jezero, two serene saltwater lakes bordered by vibrant greenery. The soothing sounds of rustling pines and birds filled the air. We parked our bicycles at a jetty across from the islet of Sveta Marija and waved for a boatman to take us to a fascinating 12th-century monastery surrounded by fragrant gardens and ancient olive trees. The day concluded with a refreshing swim from the rocky shoreline.

As we departed Mljet, we set our sights on Korcula under a blanket of darkening clouds. I felt a little anxious as the early June weather was quite variable, but after a brief rain shower, the skies cleared, illuminating the late afternoon with a warm glow.

We explored the stunning old town of Korcula, meandering through its beautiful cobbled streets in the fading warmth of the day. A delightful dinner awaited us on the terrace of Pizzeria Pape, where we savored delectable pizzas topped with fresh ingredients while enjoying a chilled glass of wine, all with a view of the deep blue sea.

We then visited Massimo, an iconic rooftop cocktail bar situated in one of the town’s ancient towers. Despite its reputation as a bit of a tourist trap, the experience of enjoying drinks atop the stone structure, overlooking rooftops and the harbor beyond, was exhilarating.

As we cruised along the coast towards Vela Luka, I found myself eagerly anticipating our daily swims, which had quickly become the highlight of my day. Anchoring the yacht near trees, we dove into the refreshing blue waters, our surroundings alive with the vibrant hues of aquamarine and navy blue, with fascinating sea urchins visible beneath the clear surface.

Although often overshadowed by Korcula’s allure, Vela Luka has its own historical significance. We climbed the nearby Pinski Rat hill to visit Vela Spila, a significant cave once inhabited during the Stone Age. The layers of rock in the cave tell a rich story of ancient human life and changing landscapes, fascinating archaeologists worldwide.

One memorable day, we ventured to the Blue Cave on Vis Island, famed for its captivating beauty and accessible only by boat (entry fee: £10). Even from early morning, crowds gathered as boats transported visitors through a dark tunnel to the vibrant cave, where sunlight refracted against the water creating an otherworldly blue ambiance that left us spellbound.

Continuing our journey along Vis’s coastline, we encountered its dramatic cliffs and crystal-clear waters. We learned that docking was often subject to the decisions of the harbor master, which is a common occurrence for Croatian islands, yet I reveled in the opportunity to swim from the yacht into the sparkling sea.

That evening, a Balkan barbecue prepared by the crew was a highlight, featuring an array of delicious meats, grilled vegetables, and local specialties (cost: £33 per person). Throughout the week, the culinary offerings remained impressive, including lunch dishes like flaky courgette pie, swordfish infused with garlic, and panna cotta topped with sour cherries.

Hvar, known for its hip vibe and lively atmosphere, was a point of excitement for many aboard, though I found its bustling crowds somewhat overwhelming. We ascended the medieval Fortica fortress, which rewarded us with panoramic views of the town and surrounding islands. Fellow passengers returned animatedly discussing their experiences at popular venues like Hula Hula beach bar and Carpe Diem club, while David and I preferred a quieter nightcap on the deck, soaking up the moonlight and observing the lively waterfront below.

Away from the bustling town center, Hvar offers a tranquil escape. We stopped for a swim in a stunning bay, featuring steep hills cascading into the turquoise waters and lush pines shading the rocky beach.

Stari Grad, the old town, charmed us with its elegant Venetian-style architecture along the waterside of a deep inlet. Strolling through its picturesque alleys adorned with blooming flowers and stunning mansions, we marveled at Hvar Island’s impressive six UNESCO World Heritage claims, ranging from its Mediterranean diet to the notable craftsmanship of nuns weaving aloe fiber into lace, and the fertile plains cultivated since ancient Greek times.

Our final swim took place at the base of Marjan Hill in Split, where I floated on my back, mesmerized by the majestic cliffs and pines above me. However, the cruise came to a hectic conclusion as we docked near a bustling ferry terminal in the intense heat.

As Croatia predominantly operates in cash, I soon realized we needed to settle our final accounts in euros; our indulgence in wine and refreshments had accumulated a significant bill. Our last afternoon involved withdrawing cash from the nearby ATMs and wandering through the animated alleyways of the magnificent Diocletian’s Palace, finishing with a final pizza before departure. It’s essential to remember that cash is king when embarking on such cruises.

While cruising on a small ship may not be the most affordable option to explore Croatia, it provided an unparalleled experience—visiting quaint towns, lesser-known islands, and enjoying delectable meals onshore. The soothing swims and the overall comfort revitalized me; my worries faded, stress lines disappeared, and I felt serene and rejuvenated. Such moments are truly priceless.

How much time do my three children actually spend outdoors? Typically just an hour or two at the school playground during the week, occasional weekend visits to our garden on pleasant days, and infrequent strolls at the local country park.

When we’re back home in London, outdoor time is limited. However, our excursions often involve swimming pools or playgrounds. This realization hits me hard as I observe my children eagerly collecting moss and what could be described as forest debris at Glentress Forest in the Scottish Borders, fashioning them into fairy houses and whimsically jabbing sticks into the ground.

We are spending a weekend at the latest site opened by Forest Holidays, nestled among the trees overlooking the Tweed Valley. This particular location is one of 13 across the UK, each featuring self-catering cabins in a serene woodland environment. The Glentress site comprises 56 cabins, strategically spaced to enhance privacy, including five new units designed with the theme “Unfurl” — a perfect name for the experience intended here. These cabins boast sage green walls and warm wooden interiors along with generous windows that offer stunning views of the surrounding forest.

“This works for me,” was my immediate reaction upon stepping into our three-bedroom cabin and discovering a log burner and a spacious family sofa oriented towards the forest view, not to mention our very own hot tub on the terrace. Unfurl here? Absolutely.

But first, we’re on a quest for fairies. We gather at the central Forest Retreat, which serves as reception, café-bar, takeaway, and shop, and join two other families as we venture to the bug hotel. The structure is still shiny and new, so no bugs have yet taken residence, but the kids are captivated as ranger Nikki Speirs showcases a toy worm that transforms as it’s stretched, while she engages the school-age kids with bug-related trivia. Though chilly in April beneath the spruces, my attention is captured by Speirs as she shares fascinating facts about bugs. Did you know a worm has five hearts? Or that woodlice can digest their own waste?

After an informative session about bugs, we undertake a creative task of gathering forest materials to make a postcard. The children spread out eagerly, collecting pine cones, leaves, stones, and sticks. Gradually, a family depiction forms, our eldest representing a comically large figure crafted from an oversized stick, with Daddy’s head as a small pebble deemed too tiny. Laughter fills the air as Speirs mimics talking to the fairies with a sprig from a nearby spruce, enacting an enchanting moment.

I find myself engrossed, trailing after her like an intrigued child, while my kids dash ahead in search of the fairies’ entrance. In this forest paradise, far removed from our city life — not even the allure of our hot tub can compare — we find ourselves creating a magical retreat of miniature homes. “I’ve never seen so many trees in one place,” my eldest gushes, as her sister explains how the fairies might use the leaves as steps to their climbing frame. It feels utterly enchanting, and as we return to our cabin with rosy cheeks and dirty hands, our spirits are high.

Next up is hot tub time. Every cabin at Forest Holidays comes equipped with a hot tub on the terrace. Although this site doesn’t feature as many activities as Center Parcs—such as a swimming pool—the children scarcely notice or mind. What a delight it is to have a private hot tub just outside our door, warmed to a perfect temperature. We’re fortunate with the weather, but part of me wishes for winter, imagining how splendid it would be to enjoy a hot soak under the stars on a crisp evening.

As the kids become slightly pinker than desired, we coax them out one by one to help their dad start a fire. They gleefully gather sticks from the provided firewood, contributing to a blaze we don’t necessarily need for warmth but find ourselves captivated by nonetheless, sharing silent smiles. With wine in hand, I feel the tension in my shoulders recede. Is it possible I’m actually unwinding?

The following morning, an exciting treat awaits — an in-cabin spa treatment by mobile therapist Lindsay. She arrives with an abundance of positive energy, as she sets up her massage oils and towels. The children are utterly transfixed as she prepares, and soon she’s coaxing them to venture outside while I enjoy some tranquility.

After two hours of deep tissue massage and reflexology, I feel rejuvenated and ready to tackle the day, though I also recognize the numerous knots I carry—thanks to the small child I often carry. Right on cue, chaos returns as my toddler bolts back in, dirt-covered and clutching a pine cone.

While I manage the newfound disarray, my husband seems less chaotic after spending time with the children, recounting their adventures on a nature trail filled with playful opportunities like hammock-like nets and wind chimes. They excitedly share details about measuring their height against various animals. Despite the chaos, I catch the longing to have joined them in their fun.

With family time now the focus, we relish our weekend in the cabin. Every window offers breathtaking forest views, while our terrace encircles a symphony of birds. We indulge in the hot tub, listening to the calls of chaffinches and robins, then wrap ourselves in bathrobes and opt for dinner via delivery service. While the kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering, the thought of preparing meals for picky eaters is daunting; instead, we relish pizzas and curries enjoyed al fresco. It’s simple — precisely what one hopes for during a holiday.

Of course, a playground is essential, and Glentress Forest delivers with one conveniently located near the Retreat. As we savor coffee at tables equipped with fire pits, the kids enthusiastically navigate tree trunks and climb a remarkably beautiful treehouse. There’s no soft cushioned flooring in sight. They come back with scrapes and dirt, but their joy is infectious. We experience far fewer squabbles and can even discuss topics outside of parenthood. One of our resolutions upon returning home to London is to spend significantly more time outdoors.

New Orleans lives by the mantra: Laissez les bons temps rouler, a Louisiana French expression that seamlessly represents this vibrant city.

On the morning of June 2, Mount Etna, Europe’s tallest active volcano located in Sicily, erupted. The eruption commenced around 4am local time, resulting in tourists fleeing as towering smoke clouds filled the sky. The National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology of Italy reported an increase in intensity of the “strombolian explosions” following the initial eruption.

The Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre in Toulouse initially issued a “code red” alert for aviation due to the eruption, which was later downgraded to “orange”. Catania Airport remains operational, and there have been no immediate reports of injuries or property damage. Mount Etna’s recent activity follows its last eruption in May, with a long history of eruptions dating back to 1500BC.

If you’re planning a visit to Sicily soon, here’s essential information to consider.

Location of Mount Etna

Mount Etna, the largest volcano in Europe, is positioned on the east coast of Sicily, a Mediterranean region of Italy. It is located slightly inland, with the city of Catania to the south and the popular tourist destination of Taormina to the north. Recognized as the most active stratovolcano worldwide, it has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2013.

Travel Safety to Sicily

Travel to Sicily is currently deemed safe, although it’s advisable to monitor updates closely. Flights are running as scheduled, despite some delays at Catania airport. The local airspace is open, and the UK Foreign Office has not revised travel guidance in light of the eruption.

Last Eruption of Mount Etna

The most recent eruption occurred in May 2025. Eruptions at Mount Etna are relatively frequent, typically happening at least once a year. While most eruptions have minimal impact on nearby residents and towns, some have historically caused extensive damage. A significant eruption in 1971 resulted in the burial of the Etna Observatory and destruction of surrounding orchards, vineyards, and posed threats to nearby villages.

A vibrant rainbow now graces the skies of Trondheim, Norway, since February, emanating from an artwork by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone, which proclaims “our magic hour.” This artistic installation serves as a welcoming symbol for the newly opened PoMo museum located beneath it.

Norway has recently enhanced its cultural landscape with a series of new museums. In 2021, Oslo introduced an impressive complex along the waterfront dedicated to renowned artist Edvard Munch, followed by the National Museum in 2022, featuring Munch’s iconic The Scream. The southern town of Kristiansand saw the repurposing of a 1930s grain silo into the striking Kunstsilo, showcasing Nordic modern art.

The PoMo museum, indicative of a more intimate approach to art presentation, is situated in what was once the main post office of Trondheim, aptly named Posten Moderne. This innovative space is the creation of French-Iranian architect India Mahdavi, in collaboration with Norwegian architect Erik Langdalen. Upon entering the museum, visitors are greeted by the dynamic design of the renovated art nouveau structure, originally built in 1911. The interior boasts a bright, white atrium adorned with whimsical, swirling sculptures, while large, green balloons hanging beneath the skylight mimic the appearance of plant cells. A standout feature is the vibrant salmon pink gallery shop, and a striking tangerine spiral staircase connecting the museum’s various levels.

Inside, the PoMo museum houses a diverse collection, featuring works from iconic photographers and artists such as Irving Penn, Catherine Opie, Andy Warhol, and contemporary pieces juxtaposed with Piranesi prints. Notably, the collection was amassed over many years by the museum’s founders, Monica and Ole Robert Reitan, showcasing their eclectic taste.

Art by Munch is also featured prominently, including a series of lithographs displayed against deep blue walls. The inaugural temporary exhibition, “Postcards from the Future,” runs until June 22, offering personal interpretations from artists like Louise Bourgeois and Katharina Fritsch. A unique soundproofed corridor, designed for reflection, enhances the contemplative experience, while outside, an inflatable artwork by Kuwaiti artist Monira Al Qadiri sways gently, representing a petrochemical molecule. A significant focus of PoMo is to foster gender equity in art, committing at least 60% of its acquisitions budget to works by female artists.

The library, located at the top of the building, offers a cozy retreat with its wood-clad walls and A-frame ceiling. The space features pastel prints inspired by local flora and fauna, making it a perfect spot for art enthusiasts to relax with a book and enjoy views of the city.

Architect Mahdavi draws inspiration from Trondheim’s folk art traditions, often overlooked in favor of minimalism. She highlights the vibrant colors found throughout the city, such as the salmon hues of doors and the various shades of warehouses, remarking on the historic prevalence of color in local heritage.

Despite being Norway’s third-largest city, Trondheim retains a small-town charm. As I explore, I encounter charming timber houses and picturesque streets. Crossing the Gamle Bybro bridge leads me to the cobbled Bakklandet district, where the 18th-century warehouses have been converted into cafes and shops. The unique bike lift, a funicular that assists cyclists up hills, is also notably present here, alongside a concrete sculpture honoring Otto Nielsen, a multifaceted figure celebrated for his contributions as a cabaret artist, radio presenter, and resistance fighter.

The jewel of Trondheim, Nidaros Cathedral, known as Europe’s northernmost medieval cathedral, exudes an ethereal beauty, with its soft green soapstone and copper steeple. Inside, visitors can admire pink granite tiles and a stained-glass rose window that illuminates the expansive vaulted ceiling. Built over the tomb of St. Olaf, the Viking king who introduced Christianity to Norway, the cathedral remains a treasured pilgrimage site.

Beyond PoMo, Trondheim’s art quarter is thriving. The KUK gallery offers exhibition space for local artists, while the Trondheim Kunstmuseum focuses on traditional and contemporary art. Kunsthall Trondheim, located in a revamped fire station, presents works from international artists. During my visit, Canadian artist Sin Wai Kin’s multimedia piece provided an engaging experience.

Trondheim is not just an art hub—it offers a rich range of activities. From harborside saunas and vibrant music scene to exploring local brews at Bar Moskus, the city has much to offer. Additionally, Rockheim museum showcases the evolution of Norwegian music, including a section dedicated to dark metal.

The culinary scene in Trondheim matches its artistic flair, with chefs like Heidi Bjerkan leading the charge in innovative dining. Fagn serves a creative menu accompanied by natural wines, while the Britannia Hotel’s Speilsalen offers an exquisite fine dining experience.

Wil Lee-Wright, who moved to Trondheim in 2010, notes the city’s growing reputation not only as a technology and football hub but also as a focal point for art and cuisine. He mentions the significance of local products showcased during annual events like the Trondersk Food Festival, highlighting the exceptional seafood and culinary talents of the region.

On my last day, a trip on the vintage Grakallbanen tram leads to Lianvatnet Lake, a popular summer destination for swimming and a winter hotspot for snowshoeing. As I gaze down at the colorful cityscape of Trondheim, I’m reminded of the magic hour that envelops this vibrant place.
